ATABEY
Atabey served as a research project for Les Enfants de l'Eau. Hereby I explored with the objects that I was about to use in Les Enfants de l'Eau. I took the objects outside of the rehearsal space into my surroundings: near water, open fields, enclosed spaces,...
Atabey is a seperate project as it touches on ideas that Les Enfants de l'Eau does not. I used the objects in different ways than one would do in a theatre space. The result are a series of photographs as documentation. These photographs gave me an immediate inspiration to work with. Most of the ideas explored in Atabey are directly transferred into the work, of course in a different format.
The photographs are a documentation of site specific actions. It involved working with objects. Placing the objects in space and the marks they leave behind in their absence. It includes working under the circumstances the environment offers. Some actions were predominatly determined by nature where other objects are manipulated into the suroundings.
Atabey has left some traces....
